Charles (Chuck) Dievendorf grew up in Gouverneur, New York where he played football, baseball and club hockey.  He graduated from Canton College, Oswego State and completed his Masterís degree at Potsdam State.  While in college at Canton and Oswego he played on club hockey teams.

After graduating from Oswego State, Chuck began his teaching career at Franklin Academy in Malone, New York, retiring in 2013.  He taught and coached hockey for 34 years, 33 as head coach, with over 300 career wins placing him in the top 15 of New York State coaches.

During Chuckís coaching career the Franklin Academy Huskies competed in the league title championship game twice, winning it in 1991 and successfully advancing through regional playoffs to the New York State final four.   The Huskies competed in the championship game losing to Glens Falls 4-3.

Dievendorf was the Section X Hockey Chair for 15 years. He was voted Coach of the Year in Section X in 1990, and was the inaugural recipient of the Section X Lifetime Dedication and Achievement Award in 2009, which was then renamed in his honor as the Chuck Dievendorf Section X Lifetime Dedication and Achievement Award.  This award continues to be given each year during the sectional championship games to a deserving recipient.

In addition to high school hockey, Chuck has been an active member of the Malone Minor Hockey Association since 1979.  He has been a board member for 28 years overseeing vast improvements and growth of hockey in the Malone region.

Dievendorf was involved with the Empire State Games for 13 years primarily as coordinator and eventually as coach of the Adirondack Region Hockey team, continuing on a few more years as a member of the team selection panel.

Currently Chuck is ACE Coordinator for the Northern New York Zone and a coaching instructor for USA Hockey.

Chuck resides in Malone with his wife, Jane.  He has coached and is the father of daughters, Maggie and Anna.  Chuckís son, Jacob passed away nine years ago at the age of eight.  He and his family continue to be avid fans of high school and college hockey, as well as the Boston Bruins.
